File Extensions and DLL Files

If you use your computer quite often, you have probably heard about file extension. The first time you heard it, you might think that it is not important or it is not something that you should pay attention to. As a matter of fact, knowing and understanding what file extension is can really help you a lot, especially if you work with your computer every single day. File extension is also called as filename extension. It helps the operating system used in your computer to decide which program should open the file. There are many file extensions. Some of them are common, some are rarely found, but you don’t have to memorize them all. When you find a problem with a certain file extension, that’s the time you should find out about the extension. For example, you open a file but you find that the program that opens it isn’t the right one. If you can search for information about the extension, you can open the file with the correct application.

How about DLL files? There are quite many users who ask about these files probably because sometimes they find an error message saying that there is a DLL file missing when they try to open a specific file. There are several reasons of why DLL files can be lost, but perhaps you don’t want to know about it at all because you just want your file can be opened normally. However, sometimes it is very useful to know what DLL files are because not all of them are safe to be kept. In fact, some of them might have to be removed.
